Spokeo Holiday Giving: Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena
As we hustle and bustle to wrap up the year, we also always like to commit to giving back. This year we chose to focus on the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena. The organization aims to improve the lives of children by helping them build self assurance and develop leadership skills. We focused on the Mackenzie-Scott branch. The large center in Northwest Pasadena hosts between 100-200 children during after school hours daily and many more during the summer break.
We were especially excited that they recently opened a new STEM lab to focus on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We provided our support with both a toy drive for the center’s annual pajama holiday party and a raffle fundraiser at our own Spokeo holiday party. Employees purchased $1 tickets in order to win a Spokeo sponsored prize and we’re proud to have raised $1518 on behalf of the center. Spokeo matched the employee contributions and with a $3036 contribution, not only were we able to purchase the new iMac the center needed but we were able to provide additional cash for a new printer and art supplies.
It was a great honor to tour the center and get to see these up and coming leaders in action. We’re looking forward to continued partnerships with the organization, especially in their new STEM lab!
